California's New Eviction Laws For RCFE's - Assisted Living

Many a care provider is grumbling about California?s new law, which requires Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly ?RCFE? also called Assisted Living Facilities, to file an Unlawful Detainer if after the resident has been served an eviction notice and he/she remains in the facility...

Hopefully once the Unlawful Detainer is filed the resident will move out, but care providers must be prepared. If a care provider is on a tight budget, not getting income from the person being evicted could be devastating. The court may grant damages, but if the person is on a fixed income, the judgment may not be enough to cover expenses or too hard to collect.
