"I have been involved in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facility Administration for over 30 years. I LOVE your website- the info is easy to use, and comprehensive. I typically write all of my own policies, procedures, forms etc. but since finding and joining Providers Web...I have so much more time to Direct our Operations....We have 7 licensed Homes for the Aged, Assisted Living Homes in the state of Michigan - a total of +/- 700 older persons, many with diagnoses of dementia. Just wanted to say thank you for making this information available, at such a reasonable cost!"

AWOL, has been used in health care as far back as I can remember. To my knowledge, the word Elopement and Wandering vs. AWOL
Many larger assisted living and residential care homes have in house medical alarm systems. Smaller facilities can use a variety of smaller systems, some even benefit by having their residents pay for some type of medical alarm system. This following article is well written, and is available to the public through the Ohio Aging Network. Medical Alarm Systems
New CMS policy guidance 2018 for States to test community engagement for able-bodied adults.

Applies to HCBS 1115 Waiver Programs and Job Skills Training

The Program will support states helping Medicaid beneficiaries improve well-being and achieve self-sufficiency. CMS today announced new guidance that will support state efforts to improve Medicaid enrollee health outcomes by incentivizing community engagement among able-bodied, working-age Medicaid beneficiaries. The policy responds to numerous state requests to test programs through Medicaid demonstration projects under which work or participation in other community engagement activities including skills training, education, job search, volunteering or caregiving would be a condition for Medicaid eligibility for able-bodied, working-age adults. This would exclude individuals eligible for Medicaid due to a disability, elderly beneficiaries, children, and pregnant women. New CMS Policy Guidance 2018 for States HCBS Programs & Community Care
